MT. BALDY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC.
Mt. Baldy is one of the more popular destinations in Michigan City. There is a large parking lot and 2 trails — one that heads up to the summit and another that heads to the beach.

What some people don’t know is that if you take the trail that heads to the beach, you can find a smaller trail that heads off to the West. This trail will take you to a ditch between Mt. Baldy & Central Ave. beach.

There are some beautiful overlooks once you head that way as well as a gorgeous secluded beach that almost seems out of place for the area. There are high vertical cliffs of sand, many rocks & pebbles and lots of different plants & foliage throughout your route.

To get to Mt. Baldy, simply take hwy 12 west of Michigan City. You will see a sign for the parking lot. More info about Mt. Baldy can be found here.
