There have been a lot of questions surrounding the new Indiana Dunes National Park Pass...and one we've heard the most is, "What beaches can I go to?". Here's your answer.
Ready to enjoy some sand and sun? If you have the new Indiana Dunes National Park pass -OR- an America the Beautiful pass (this includes the America the Beautiful Senior pass) you can go to all the beaches in the map above.
Can you go to the beach where you've always needed a pass before? The short answer is NO. Of course, you can still go to that beach, but you will need to continue to get the pass you've always gotten in the past. This is for the STATE PARK and that beach would be just to the East of Porter beach.
The Indiana Dunes National Park also has over 50 miles of trails at 14 different locations. Your Indiana Dunes National Park pass will also include all those parking lots.
The Indiana Dunes National Park pass will cost you $45. It will be good for a full year from the month you purchase it. (Buy it in April 2022, it's good until April 2023). You can currently purchase it at the Indiana Dunes Visitor's Center (off of 49), at the Douglas Center (Lake Street in Miller) and at Dig the Dunes Trail Stop on days we are open. Trail Stop will be open on Saturday April 2 from 1-6 pm and the National Park Supervisory Recreation Fee Technician will be on hand to answer all your questions. DO YOU HAVE A 4TH GRADER? Your child and their whole family can get a free pass for the year! (Check at the Indiana Dunes Visitor's Center on how to get this.
Types of Annual Passes:
Indiana Dunes National Park Pass - $45 (only gets you into Indiana Dunes National Park areas -- beaches listed above as well as all the trails). This is the only annual pass that will be available at Trail Stop.
America the Beautiful Annual Pass - $80 (gets you into all National Parks). Available at the Visitor's Center.
Senior Pass - $80 (gets you into all National Parks and is good for a lifetime!) Can't afford the full $80? You can pay $20/year. Available at the Visitor's Center.
Indiana Dunes STATE Park Annual Pass - (this can only be purchased at the state park and does not include any of the beaches above. It will however get you into the State Park beach (with the pavilion) and the State Park trails.)
