Slowly drifting…

A science fiction scene, created from driftwood

A science fiction scene, created from driftwood

I’ve decided to make this week’s blog more of a photo blog. Over the course of the year, I’ve taken lots of photos of driftwood and I’ve been wanting to compile my favorites and put them all in one place. So here you have it!

All these photos were taken on the Ogden Dunes Beach. Enjoy!

Looking at driftwood photos reminds me of the ink blot tests. What do you see? This one makes me think of a giant spider crawling across the beach shore.

The details and intricacies in driftwood can be amazing.

A sea creature slithering out of the sea. It even has an eye!

This photo was just so serene for me. A giant tree resting across the calm waters. How did it get here? And where did it go?

Hands reaching out from the tree, grasping for anything….

Finally, I would like to end this post with a shout out to the wonderful artist Laura Marie Panozzo. Laura creates the most beautiful birds out of driftwood. You can learn more about Laura and how she creates this amazing art by clicking the link below the photo.

Thanks everyone. Keep digging those dunes!
