17th Annual Necktie 5k Walk & Run to be held on June 15.

Calling all Runners and Walkers!

Head to Beverly Shores on June 15th at 8am for the 17th Annual Necktie 5K Walk & Run. Registration is $25 before June 3th, $30 after, discounts available for groups of four or more.

The run is sponsored by Association of Beverly Shores Residents (ABSR) and proceeds go towards ABSR Programs including: a variety of children’s events, environmental awareness campaigns and activities, beautification projects, and social programs in our community.

The theme of neckties prevails because they represent fathers everywhere. The race is always run the Saturday before Father’s Day so families can celebrate it together.

The necktie run is a family event held on Father’s Day weekend to honor the fathers or father figures in your life. We encourage whole families to either walk or run the 5K loop. Participants can bring their dogs and baby stroller to include the whole family. Runners and walkers are encouraged to wear Neckties and get into the spirit of the day! The event includes live music, kids' sprints, stretchers, donuts, and more!

Awards for the first overall male and female, also to the top father/son and father/daughter duos who cross the finish line together. Fun colorful neckties are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group.

The course is a 5K loop in Beverly Shores with great views of the Great Marsh and beautiful Lake Michigan, both are part of the Indiana National Park.

Kids ages 8 and under are welcome to participate in our popular Kids' Sprint.  It's free and every kid wins a prize. Chesterton Anytime Fitness will lead pre-race stretchers and their pace car will lead the runners along the course.

This years t-shirt was designed by Tom Linden, a long time participant in our race. The logo celebrates the beautiful summer sun along our lakeshore community.
