A very cool new shop in Beverly Shores
Matthew Buccilla, who owned the men's store Cowboys & Astronauts in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood, fell in love with the Indiana Dunes during Covid, when he and his partner visited to hike and get some fresh air. Soon they were putting an offer on a house in Beverly Shores, and a few years later, after selling Cowboys & Astronauts, Buccilla has opened a home design store full of gorgeous, mostly vintage, finds. It's open the first and third weekends of every month from 11am-4 pm CT. Buccilla, who once designed spaces for Herman Miller, also offers design and staging services. Read more here.

A new Lebanese restaurant in Michigan City with just 12 seats
Longtime area restaurateur and food truck owner “Moe” Mroueh has opened reservations-only C.12 in downtown Michigan City.
Patrons, who will enter through the building’s side door and descend a flight of stairs to the restaurant, are offered a multi-course tasting menu featuring dishes such as stuffed grape leaves, hummus, fresh pita, lentil soup, tabouleh, warak enab (rice with herbs made with meat or vegetarian), rekakat (cheese rolls made of phyllo), spinach fatayer (a baked pastry), falafel, fried eggplant, baked kibbeh (meat pie) and fish cooked Lebanese style. A new bookstore has opened in New Buffalo, selling gorgeous, glossy, big books meant to be displayed on coffee tables or any surface in your home. Book Shore, just off New Buffalo’s main drag, is the newest venture from the family who owns Stray Dog, the popular tourist restaurant in town. Read more here.
