Spring Equinox Celebration to take place in the dunes on Sunday, March 20.

Head to Dig the Dunes Trail Stop on Sunday March 20, from 12-sunset, for a Spring Equinox Celebration!

What can you expect? It’s been a long, dark winter and it's time to celebrate spring in the dunes. Trail Stop (located at Portage Lakefront & Riverwalk) will open it's doors for sips, snacks, shopping, music & more. Trail Stop is located within the National Park, giving folks the opportunity to walk the beach and trails and get up close with the Indiana dunes. The forecast is looking promising, 50's and sunny.

Celebrate spring on Sunday at Trail Stop.

The menu will include favorites like the Trail Stop pierogies, dune dogs and quesadillas. You can also find mac & cheese, bbq pork sandwiches and of course a large selection of local craft beers and wine. Ice cream and hot chocolate will also be available.

Music will kick off at 12:30 with Caleb Bond (The Traveling Accordion) and will continue just after 3:00 with local favorite, Johnny V. Then, at 6:30, Randi Light of Enlightened Living Hypnosis, will bring everyone outside for a spring equinox viewing complete with a veil of silence and complimentary sparkling wine toast.

Johnny V will start playing just after 3pm.

Park passes are not needed yet, but annual passes will be available for purchase for $45. Grab one on Sunday and get a free Dig the Dunes koozie or mini magnet! Lots of Dunes merchandise will also be for sale including the "Stop & Smell the Lupine" shirts in crew, v-neck and tank. These shirts only come out once a year.

Be sure to stick around until 6:30 for an equinox celebration with Randi Light
