16th Annual Beverly Shores Necktie Walk and Run to take place on Saturday, June 17.

Grab your running shoes and neckties and head out to the 16th annual Father’s Day Weekend necktie run (and walk) in Beverly Shores.

This year’s Walk & Run will take place on Saturday, June 17th at 8am. Registration is $25 before June 5 and $30 after that. There are discounts available for groups of four or more.

Sponsored by the Association of Beverly Shores Residents (ABSR), proceeds from the Necktie Run go towards ABSR Programs including: a variety of children’s events, environmental awareness campaigns and activities, beautification projects, and social programs in our community.

The theme of neckties prevails because they represent fathers everywhere. The race is always run the Saturday before Father’s Day so families can celebrate it together.

This years t-shirt was designed by Beverly Shores resident, Geoff Bevington. It features a crane since many sandhill cranes nest within the marshes of the Beverly Shores community.

Come on out and honor the fathers or father figures in your life. The ABSR encourages whole families to either walk or run the 5K loop together. Participants can bring their dogs and baby strollers. The event includes live music, kids’ sprints, stretches, donuts, and more!

Awards for the first overall male and female, also to the top father/son and father/daughter duos who cross the finish line together. This year the awards are custom hand-made glass medallions created by Beverly Shores resident and artist, Caryn Brown. Fun colorful neckties are awarded to the top three finishers in each age group.

The course is a 5K loop in Beverly Shores with great views of the Great Marsh and beautiful Lake Michigan, both are part of the Indiana National Park.

Kids ages 8 and under are welcome to participate in the popular Kids’ Sprint. It’s free and every kid wins a prize!
